　本展では、福本が近年手がける、書物にきのこの菌糸を植菌してできた《Mycobook（マイコブック）》を紹介します。市場に流通している書物は、煮沸し、滅菌されることで、きのこの菌糸の菌床となり、別の形態をとることになります。紙の繊維のなかで増殖する子実体（きのこ）は、インクで印字された文字を巻き込みながら、情報に潜む想念を拡散する媒介者となるかのようです。きのこの菌糸が書物の文字や頁を分解し、別の文字や頁との接触を可能にするとき、情報はどのようにものとして読解されることになるのでしょうか。書物というシステムをものの水準において分解し、変容させる、歴史の再生工場にご参加ください。

This exhibition introduces Mycobook, a body of work Fukumoto has developed in recent years by inoculating books with mushroom mycelium. Books circulating in the market are boiled and sterilized so that they become a substrate for fungal growth, thereby assuming another form. As the fruiting bodies of mushrooms proliferate within the fibers of the paper, they envelop letters printed in ink, as though becoming mediators that disperse the thoughts latent within information. When mushroom mycelium decomposes the letters and pages of a book, bringing them into contact with other letters and pages, how might information be read as matter? We invite you to enter a regenerative workshop of history, where the system of the book is dismantled and transformed at the level of materiality.
